Our Trip to Silver Springs/Washington DC to Visit Jacquie and Ryan

Well it has been a while since I have written, but I wanted to tell you about our great trip to Silver Springs/Washington DC. We left on Thursday June 26th and drove about half way and stayed at this nice hotel. Vanessa like the decor so we took a picture of it.

Then we got up in the morning early and arrived at Jacquie and Ryan's around 11:30 a.m. We had a great visit.

While there we visited a free zoo, visited the memorials and monuments in Washington and went to Six Flags Maryland.

We took the metro everywhere and it was fun.

It sure was great to see Jacquie and Ryan again. They were so gracious and let us take up their whole living room with suitcases and air mattresses. I'm sure they were happy to get their living space back when we left.

And Jacquie did a wonderful job cooking all week for us. She even cooked a Irish dinner for Josh in honour of his mission. She has turned into a great little cook.

It was so nice that Ryan took time to go the memorial monuments and Six Flags with us. We were even blessed to have Jess (Ryan's brother) and his friend Evan with us in Washington. It was sad to say goodbye, especially because we don't know when we will see them again and Josh won't see them for 2 years. But we were so grateful for their hospitality.

The Kids are Home! Well at least 2 of them are!

On April 11th, Vanessa and Josh returned home for the summer from university. We had Brandon (Josh's best friend) come with us. And of course I love to embass them, so I made this nice sign. So now we start the process of getting Josh ready for his mission. Also, he needs to find a job and work for a while. Vanessa already has a job and starts on April 21st. First she has to have her wisdom teeth out. So we hopefully we get a few chipmunk pictures of her. Jacquie and Ryan are currently travelling cross country to Washington DC for the summer. I can't wait to go and visit. Well that is all the news for now. We have lots of things to keep up busy.

Josh Got His Call!!!!

On March 20th Josh received his mission call. He waited until 8:00 p.m. EST or 6:00 p.m. MT to open it up. He was at Jacquie and Ryan’s house in Rexburg, Idaho. As he was attending BYU-Idaho at the time. Those that were in attendance in Rexburg, were Ryan and Jacquie, Vanessa, Taylor Fujimoto, Kyle Raja, 3 FHE Girl (I need to find out their names) and of course Josh. Then in Brantford at the house were Brandon, Robin (Brandon’s Girlfriend), Gary and I. We were able to watch him on webcam and listen over the phone as he opened the envelope. He hide the paper with his mission call on it behind something so he wouldn’t read the name of the place before he read the rest of it. Then he started to read. When he read the first line, Elder Joshua Musson the emotions started (for both of us). He was called an Elder. How awesome for him. Then he proceeded with a lot of tears (me too at this end) as he read that he was called to the Ireland Dublin Mission. He will report to the England Mission Training Centre on July 18, 2008. Oh my, what a shocker that was. I never suspected that part of the world. I could see by his face Josh was just as shocked as I was. Not where he expected to be sent. But he is really excited. Well everyone cheered and we are all so excited for him. He will be a great missionary. He did call his Grandpa and Grandma Musson to let them know. And he tried to call his Grandpa and Grandma Hartford but there were not home so he left a message. They called him back later that night. Well now the fun is just beginning. Vanessa and Josh will be home on April 11th from school. It will be great to spend the next few months will both of them. I'm sad because Jacquie won't be home, but I'm excited for her. They are moving to Washington DC for the summer. I can't wait to go and see them there.

Well this weekend we had the opportunity to go to London for EFY. I always love being with the youth. But this weekend was different. It was very stressful getting there and back. We had a big snow storm hit southern Ontario, so travelling wasn't to good. So we had to leave the meeting early. So then we missed out on the CES Speaker's 3rd presentation. And last night we missed out on his 1st presentation because he didn't get to the chapel until 10:00 p.m. He was to be there for 8:00 p.m. So we only got to hear him once. He did a great job and taught the youth how to listen for the Holy Ghost. And since we had bad weather last night, we decied to stay at a hotel in London. We picked the Staybridge Suites. It was a really nice room. So I thought you might enjoy a few photos from it. And I'm going to add a picture of all the snow once it has stopped. I'm so sick of it. I need to get away.

Ward Valentine Dance

On Friday, February 22 we had a ward Valentine's Dance. It was so much fun. Not very many attended, but those that did had alot of fun. We played a game that you had to ask questions to find your famous partner. Dad was Mark Anthony and he had to find Cleopatra. I think we ended up helping him in the end. I was Marilyn Monroe (which I guessed before we even started, but no one will tell me I was right). I had to find Joe Dimaggio and I came in a close second place. It was alot of fun.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We had alot of fun on Valentine's Day. I woke up to a very cute card from Gary. And he called me at work and asked me out to dinner. But I sort of put him off by telling him I will think about it. But in the mean time, I had planned a romantic dinner for two. It was a lot of fun.

When will it quit snowing!!

We have had alot of snow lately and we are getting sick and tired of shovelling it. So I thought I would share the piles with everyone. I sure hope it melts some before it snows again. The snow piles are almost taller than I am.
